I've been deep in this subject lately - and it's changed everything I used to think about technology back in our TAO days. We were right back then, of course, that without seizing the means of production, communications technology would lose its liberatory potential (and so naive about how quickly it would all snap shut). Now I think about this life I've spent in comms tech and how dangerous things have become because of it. I'm working to extract myself from the algorithmic reality without giving up the digital conveniences I have come to rely on. Is it an either/or? Not sure yet.

I think it definitely depends on how dystopian our near term future gets. Living rural definitely has its benefits. 👊
Does it ever. I moved to one of the Gulf Islands about 8 years ago and I'm never sorry about it.
