Great timing! The power went out for two hours the other day and I had to try to explain what was happening to two children who couldn't conceptually grasp it, and all I could think about was a lot of what you talked about in this AWESOME "fiction" wink wink wink... :(
Nazi sympathizers in Czechoslowakia 1939 be like...
There were many native Germans living there at the time, who sympathized with the occupation, welcoming the military with nazi salutes. There were even nasi sympathizers among non-German locals.
Did things get better for them? No.
Did they get special treatment? No.
Did the Germans exploit them like anybody else? Yes.
I would like part two to touch on what the farmer's wife was doing through all this, tho I'm guessing she was obsessing over her seed starts or feeding the animals in the barn
I was claimed by the Dominion of Canada as a citizen at birth, and I've lived on two different parts of this land during my life so far (lands of Anishinaabe peoples, Ojibwe then Algonquian).

There are no endings, there's just life that goes on matter what.
