"But what if it’s not incompetence? What if it’s intentional?"

Also worth asking: what if the entire of WEOG is in on the game? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_European_and_Others_Group

I'm not saying I believe this is the case, but that I'm open to that possibility. The notion that what is happening is about one individual person (Donald Trump) or one legacy political party (Republican) is not something I'm open to.

I notice that many of the "answers" to the USA Trump regime have been things which specific political ideologies within Canadian society have been pushing for decades: stronger ties with Western Europe, greater military spending, more pipelines and "drill baby drill" (mining, etc, etc).

Create a crisis in order to push forward policies that you wouldn't be able to do without the manufactured crisis.

While the language used will be very different, I doubt there will be a major *POLICY* difference between the LPC or CPC forming government after the current federal election. The Poilievre CPC will be more open and honest about the horrible things they will be doing, while the Carney LPC will put major spin behind everything that is done.

BTW: I was only assessed Autistic in my 50's, official report last summer. Before that I had no idea why I didn't fit in, or why other people didn't notice the patterns and interconnectedness of things I noticed.

I appreciate this perspective, but there is something missing when we call for change, revolution, realigning around different groups, and open transparency: we don’t have the space or the energy to coalesce in the numbers required to make change happen and happen sustainably. We are totally bombarded by the modern world that it is harder and harder to come together and spend energy on making change happen. I am exhausted by work, parenting, keeping up with technology, trying to grasp the changes in society, maintaining social and financial resilience… all while worrying about parents and family in strife. Part of me says these changes you have articulated could usher in the sort of space we need to overcome a such energy deficiencies. But I just can’t see how we can communally come together in this current environment. I think we need a catastrophe to befall us and build again. I don’t have the energy to see a bright future until it has faded to black and we can start again at the dawn.
